Sleepless in Seattle?

As Tom predicted, yesterday we went to the Cultural Center. The main attraction here is the Space Needle. It is a pretty impressive structure and the gift shop is fun! We didn't go up it because it was a dreary day and it was pretty expensive. There is another impressive building on the site - the EMP (Experience Music Project). Again we didn't go in (except the gift shop and the loo) but we admired the outside. The building was designed by Frank Gehry who also created the Guggenheim in Bilbao. You can certainly see the similarities although the EMP is much more colourful. The best part about the buliding is that the monorail runs through the top of it, under its curves etc.

As we walked back into town, the weather was getting worse so we headed back to the hostel. Tom decided to see Freddy vs. Jason at the cinema. At the prospect of such a delightful film, I stayed in the hostel and read and went on the computer. This was the first time that we've spent more than a few minutes apart from each other, except when we were in different hostel dorm rooms for a night - we're doing impressively well at not killing each other! :o) Tea was free again in the evening - jacket potatoes with various fillings and soup.
